Visa Requirements

Please always check the UK government website for the latest updates before travel.
Spoken Languages
English is the official language in many Caribbean islands, including Barbados, Jamaica, and St. Lucia. However, many locals also speak a local English Creole or patois, which can be a little different from standard English. In other areas, languages like Spanish, French, and Dutch are spoken.
Getting Around
The best way to travel between islands is by air, with many regional airlines connecting major hubs. For getting around a single island, taxis are readily available, and buses or shared minibuses (often called dolmuÅŸ, minibuses, or colectivos depending on the location) are a cheap and efficient way to travel. Car hire is also an option on many islands, but be prepared to drive on the left or right depending on the island's history.
Currency
The currency varies by island. The East Caribbean Dollar (XCD) is used in eight countries, including St. Lucia and Grenada. The US Dollar is widely accepted in many places, and some islands, like Jamaica and Barbados, have their own currencies (Jamaican Dollar and Barbadian Dollar, respectively).

Go Rafting on the Martha Brae River in Jamaica
For a serene and romantic experience, float down the Martha Brae River on a 30-foot bamboo raft. A skilled guide will pole you through the lush rainforest, telling stories and sharing the history of the river and the island.
